Gets greasy fast, reacts easily

MY SCALP PLANT

🌿 Tea Tree

You need oil control without irritation — like tea tree, antibacterial yet calming.

What this looks like

· Roots get greasy within half a day
· But harsh cleansers sting or trigger breakouts
· You need oil control and mildness at the same time

The right pH

Recommended · Mildly acidic (pH 4.5–5.5)
Low irritation comes first. If cleansing feels weak, add an exfoliating active like salicylic acid rather than raising the pH.

· A healthy scalp sits around pH 4.5–5.5, but mildly acidic isn't automatically the best shampoo.

· Most products already fall between pH 4 and 7, which supports the scalp's natural acidity — not being 'pH-balanced' doesn't make a shampoo harsh, and being acidic doesn't make it gentler.

Checklist

Get cleansing power from mild surfactants plus an exfoliating active
Cooling (menthol) is a sensation, not oil control — and it irritates sensitive scalps
Daily gentle washing beats harsh washing every other day
