MY SCALP PLANT

🌱 Peppermint

You can take the strong stuff — bold and cooling, like peppermint.

What this looks like

· Oil builds fast but your scalp tolerates most products
· Strong cleansers rarely cause trouble
· Prone to greasy (seborrheic) flakes

The right pH

Recommended · Neutral to mildly alkaline (pH 6–8)
Your scalp can prioritize cleansing. Salons use the same principle — alkaline lifts the cuticle to clear sebum and buildup.

· A healthy scalp sits around pH 4.5–5.5, but mildly acidic isn't automatically the best shampoo.

· Most products already fall between pH 4 and 7, which supports the scalp's natural acidity — not being 'pH-balanced' doesn't make a shampoo harsh, and being acidic doesn't make it gentler.

Checklist

Check that exfoliating/sebum actives sit high on the ingredient list
Heavy silicones and butters near the top can weigh the scalp down
For greasy flakes, anti-dandruff actives (zinc pyrithione) work well
